Violinist Keila Wakao, First Prize winner of the 2021 Menuhin Violin Competition Junior Division, will perform with pianist Dina Vainshtein on Friday, 8/22/2025, 7:30 PM at NEC’s Williams Hall. This performance is part of the 2025 Summer Concert Series 夏季系列音乐会. Free admission. Suggested donation: $10 at the door. Children age 6 and under will not be admitted. Keila Wakao has garnered numerous prestigious awards, including the Gold Medal and Bach Prize at the 2021 Stulberg International String Competition, and First Prize at the 2023 BSO Concerto Competition. She made her Boston Symphony Orchestra debut at the BSO Opening Night Gala in September 2024 under the baton of Andris Nelsons. Keila began studying violin at age 3 with the legendary Joseph Silverstein. At age 9, she became a student of Donald Weilerstein, and she currently studies at NEC under Miriam Fried.
