Violinist Isabella Li Lao 勞黎 and pianist Dina Vainshtein play Schumann

Internationally acclaimed violinist Isabella Li Lao 勞黎, faculty member of China Central Conservatory of Music, will perform with pianist Dina Vainshtein on Tuesday, 8/18/2026, 7:30 PM at NEC’s Williams Hall, as a part of the 2026 Summer Concert Series 夏季系列音乐会. Free admission. Suggested donation: $10 at the door. Children age 6 and under will not be admitted.
Isabella Li Lao’s playing has been described as “delicate and deeply moving, full of imagination, radiating the warmth of sunlight.” As a soloist, she has collaborated with leading orchestras worldwide and has appeared with distinguished conductors including Zubin Mehta, Shui Lan, Hans Graf, Benjamin Zander, Chen Xieyang, Zhang Guoyong, Chen Lin, and composer-conductors Tan Dun and Bright Sheng.
Pianist Dina Vainshtein collaborates with some of the most promising musicians of our time. Dina graduated from the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music in Moscow. At the 1998 International Tchaikovsky Competition, she received the Special Prize for the Best Collaborative Pianist. Maestro Benjamin Zander praised “she is the ultimate professional.”
