Ann Arbor-based eclectic collective Violet Sol brings their wide-ranging groove to Top of the Park this summer. As soulful as they are electrifying, the group’s diverse influences range from hip-hop and neo-soul to world, disco, jazz, and even opera. Powerful vocals and dynamic arrangements are at the core of their music, with cinematic flair from the stirring strings of a violin, resulting in a groovy sound that’s entirely their own. The members include vocalist Angelena Siciliano, keyboardist Ryan Green, violinist Jordan Adema, bassist Daniel Hunter, and drummer Riley Bean. The band is hard at work on an album, but in the meantime their latest single “Truth” is a chill yet danceable gem that’s sure to inspire audiences to sway to the beat.
