Vinyl DJing for Teens at SONIQLAB (3 night class)

A hands-on approach to the art & skill of vinyl DJ ing

Sign up for some fun while learning core knowledge, key skills, tips & tricks on the art of vinyl mixing & turntablism. Taught by DJ Adam Bomb!

All equipment provided. Just show up with your ears and ***Cannoli’s

Turntables will be available for use

8 slots permitted (to ensure participants get a significant amount of time behind “the decks”)

3 Day course will cover:

•History & progression of the vinyl DJ & equipment

•Turntable Fundamentals & basic DJ setup (& breakdown)

•Vinyl fundamentals (reading the grooves, labels, handling, protection, storage, etc.)

•Selecting songs to play

•Cueing records to a track’s beginning or a desired point (a beat, word, phrase, sound, etc.)

•Use of the faders and lines

•Blending, transitioning, timing & precision

•Beat matching by ear

•Pitch control/tempo purpose and use of it

•Basic scratching & turntablism

•Crate digging & proper track selection
