Aja is the sixth studio album by the American jazz rock band Steely Dan, released on September 23, 1977. On this album, songwriters Donald Fagen and Walter Becker pushed Steely Dan further into experimenting with different combinations of session players, enlisting the services of nearly 40 musicians, while pursuing longer, more sophisticated compositions and arrangements.
The album spawned multiple hit singles including Peg, Deacon Blues and Josie eventually becoming Steely Dan’s biggest commercially successful release of their career up to that point. To this day, Aja is renowned as a timeless, classic, musical masterpiece among fans and musicians alike.
