About this Event
A summer evening's tour for members and their guests aboard a vintage Routemaster bus owned by local resident Lord Hendy of Richmond Hill. This year we return to the delights of Richmond Hill, Petersham and Ham Common, with a brief visit to Eric Lyons's listed Parkley's Estate for Span Developments. The bus also passes sites evocative of 60s music – the former homes of Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood and Pete Townsend, as well as the original home of the Crawdaddy Club where the Stones played one of their first gigs in 1963.
Printed guides by Paul Velluet, leader of our Heritage Walks, will be provided on board. Following the tour, a dinner buffet will be served in The Sun Inn, Parkshot TW9 2RG where we have booked a room. Food is included in the price and there will be a cash bar. We regret that children under the age of 18 are not permitted inside the pub due to licensing restrictions.
The bus will depart at 7:00pm from outside Richmond Railway Station, Bus Stop Z. Please arrive by 6:45pm to allow time for check-in and boarding. Routemasters can only seat 72 passengers so don’t delay in reserving yours.
