Design & Print Posters with Vintage Wood TypeThis one-day workshop is your chance to step into The Armarie Room’s historic printery and create bold posters using our beautiful collection of vintage wood type.
It’s a hands-on day of experimenting with type, colour, and traditional printing techniques. Whether you’re completely new to letterpress or already love working with type, you’ll have the chance to explore, play, and make something uniquely your own.
During the workshop you’ll:
🖋 Design with vintage type
Explore our collection of wood and metal type and learn how to combine letterforms to create playful, expressive poster designs.
🎨 Ink and print by hand
Experiment with colour, learn how to ink type properly, and print your posters on our 1860 Albion Press.
You’ll work in a small, supportive group with plenty of time to experiment and create. By the end of the day you’ll have your own handmade posters to take home.
Who’s it for?
Anyone curious about letterpress printing, typography, or hands-on creative making. No experience needed — beginners and experienced creatives are both very welcome.
