Vintage Magazine Collage

Collage Artist Caris Jackson will sharing her expertise and amazing vintage magazine collection, guiding you to create your own nostalgic masterpiece in this fun and friendly workshop suitable for beginners and improvers.

What You’ll Learn

• The best application and gluing techniques.
• Visual storytelling and crafting a personal narrative through use of imagery.
• Composition, pattern and design skills
• Cohesive use of colour to create impact and unity in your design.

All materials are provided, including an A4 board in a choice of colours, vintage magazines, old books and collage ephemera.

You are also welcome to bring your favourite scissors and your own collage media, such a photographs (digital prints/photocopies are preferable to photographic paper), old drawings, newspaper clippings, hand written notes, letters, maps, sewing patterns, wallpaper samples etc.

Caris Jackson is a mixed media collage artist based at English Bridge Studios in Shrewsbury. Her joyful, maximalist works reimagine iconic performers and theatrical scenes, layering vintage prints, recycled fabrics, and found materials into vibrant stories full of colour, character and flair.
