Dear Friends,
Honduras is one of the poorest countries in Central America, with more than 60% of its population living below the poverty line. Access to healthcare remains a significant challenge, with only 1 physician for over 2,000 people.
More than 25 years ago, a local physician and his wife recognized this tremendous need. In 2001, they organized a small team of three volunteers to travel to Honduras, where they provided medical care to nearly 100 patients. Since then, Faith & Humanity Medical Missions has returned nearly every year, growing to include hundreds of volunteers and dedicated Honduran colleagues. Together, we have provided medical care, dental services, vision care, health education, and community support to thousands of people, focusing on rural communities with little or no access to healthcare.
For many years, Faith & Humanity Medical Missions has dreamed of establishing a permanent medical clinic in Honduras. In 2022, that dream began to take shape when, through the generosity of our donors and the partnership of local Honduran municipalities, we acquired land for a community medical facility. We broke ground in January 2025 and completed the property's perimeter fence in 2026.Now we are ready to begin the next phase of construction: building the caretakers' quarters, followed by the medical clinic and volunteer dormitory, Kevin’s House of Hope.
When completed, this medical campus will provide a permanent home for our mission, and create opportunities to partner with other organizations that share our commitment to improving the health and well-being of the Honduran people. It will serve as a central location for patient care, medical and community education, and volunteer housing.
