Second friday of november we gather friends and family to celebrate the new Copenhagen label, Initiated Records! Run by Niels Bagge Hansen better known to the public as Vinnie Who, the newly started label has already put out a broad variety of releases ranging from the jazzy and dreamy sounds of Ida Duelund and Oilly Wallace to more dancable tunes from the likes of Vinnie Who and Christian D’Or. At midnight we will showcase some of the artists and collaborators of the label in a spectacular show which will also mark the first Vinnie Who live performance in more than eight years ⋆ ★ ★ Vinnie Who ★
No intro is needed for Niels Bagge - better known as Vinnie Who. With evergreens like “39”, “What You Got Is Mine” and “Remedy”, Vinnie Who defied the sound of the happy days of the early 2010’s in Danish music. He conquered both the radio charts and the biggest live stages in Denmark but after an immense succes quite suddenly dissapeared from the scene.
Now he’s back in a triumphant return - both as a producer and Initiated Records label boss for young talents like Ida Duelund, Oilly Wallace and Boogie Rookie but also as a singer and songwriter. His single “So Real Surreal” marks his first release in eight years and during 2024 we will get to hear both a beautiful bossa/jazz EP and more dancy releases from the revitalized Vinnie Who. All on his own new record label Initiated Records.
★ Christian d’Or ★
Over the course of the last 15 years or so, Christian d’Or has been a permanent, leftfield fixture on the Copenhagen music and nightlife scene. His constant search for sonic adventures in the worlds of soul, jazz, disco, house and psychedelia has seen him carve out a resilient space for himself within the restless Copenhagen DJ-scene and his musical curiosity has also shaped an interesting variety of releases as a recording artist.
★ Boogie Rookie ★
Boogie Rookie is the young disco prince of Copenhagen. After 10 years of working in Denmark’s biggest record store built up an impressive and eclectic vinyl set ranging from eurodance to spiritual jazz but always groovy and charming. His sets are full of nostalgia, synthesizers and drum machines and allthough they’re hard to put in a box space disco, hi-nrg, italo, eurodance, new beat and acid house are some of the genres that you might expect to hear.
