Zwischen Obstbäumen und Kuriositätenkabinett fläzen und Livemusik lauschen – das ist das Villapalooza. Zum fünften Mal holt das Mini-Open-Air fünf Singer/Songwriter*innen unterschiedlicher Klang- und Haarfarbe in den Wundergarten der Villa Kuriosum in Lichtenberg.
Hoch über den Trassen der Ringbahn gibt’s diesmal Musik von:
YENI, die einem mit berückend schöner Country-Folk-Melancholie das Herz wegschmelzen lässt; Thomas Franz, der musikkabarettistische Liedermacherei oder musikmachendes Liederkabarett betreibt, beides sehr unterhaltsam; KEJKO, ursprünglich aus Frankreich, die mit träumerischen Loop-Songs die Welt ihr Zuhause gemacht hat; Jani Dingsda, die mit oller Akustikgitarre den „sweet spot“ zwischen Punkrotzigkeit und Social Anxiety trifft; und Caught in the White Summer Hotel, der seine hypnotisches Variante von Blues aus etwas Noise und viel Atmosphäre destilliert.
Klingt gut? Aber hallo. Kommt vorbei – zum Lungern und Lauschen!

- Es gibt Getränke und Snacks zu kaufen. Bringt gerne eure Picknickdecke mit!
- Kinder sind willkommen, Hunde leider nicht (Katzenzone!).

Lounging between fruit trees and curiosities and listening to live music – that's Villapalooza. For the fifth time, this mini-open-air event brings five singer/songwriters of varying tones and hair colors to the lovely garden of Villa Kuriosum in Lichtenberg.
High above the Ringbahn tracks, this time there's music from:
YENI, who melts your heart with enchantingly beautiful country-folk melancholy; Thomas Franz, who is a cabaret music-maker or a music-making cabaret artist, both very entertaining; KEJKO, originally from France, who has made the world her home with dreamy loop songs; Jani Dingsda, who hits the sweet spot between punk snottiness and social anxiety with her old acoustic guitar; and Caught in the White Summer Hotel, who distills his hypnotic take on blues from a bit of noise and a lot of atmosphere.

Caught in the White Summer Hotel (Post-Blues, Berlin)
The catchy project name belongs to the music of guitarist and song writer Nicky Zunker. The center of his musical work is the power and dynamics of electric guitars. Using effects, loops and all kinds of little toys he creates songs ranging from raw, loud and crooked to tender, melancholic and atmospheric.

Dingsda (LoFi-Pop-Punk, Leipzig)
Jani Januška Dingsda spielt eingängigen Lo-Fi-Pop-Punk und Anti-Folk-Songs über die Angst vor anderen Menschen. Eine alte Akustikgitarre und eine Stimme, die manchmal aus drei verschiedenen Leuten zu kommen scheint - ist alles, was es braucht für Melancholie und Freude am Scheitern.

KEJKO (Loopy Dream-Pop, Berlin)
KEJKO is a French musician that has brought her music to various European countries and overseas. She started her journey playing in the streets of London a few years ago and is now a Berlin-based artist. She works with loop pedals and uses acoustic and electric guitars to explore sound in an intimate and contemplative way, layering lengthy guitar solos and hypnotic reverb. She re-interprets and re-designs songs in foreign languages as well as sharing her own compositions.

Thomas Franz (Liedermacherei, München)
Thomas Franz gehört zur Spezies der Liedermacher. Neben den üblichen menschlichen Stoffwechselprodukten bilden sich in ihm Lieder, die seine überschüssigen Gedanken und Gefühle enthalten. Manchmal ist Franz von Publikum umgeben, das die Lieder dann mehr oder weniger begeistert aufnimmt. So gelangen Gedanken und Gefühle zurück in den Kreislauf des Lebens. Die Wissenschaft ist fasziniert. Was sich die Natur so ausdenkt, und wie schön doch alles ineinandergreift!

YENI (Americana-Folk, Berlin)
Singer-Songwriterin YENI, ursprünglich aus Schweden, lebt heute in Berlin und kreiert gefühlvolle, authentische Folk-Musik mit einem Hauch von Americana. In ihren Songs beschäftigt sie sich mit der Spannung zwischen dem Wunsch nach Nähe und Zugehörigkeit und dem Gefühl von Einsamkeit und Distanz.
Singer-songwriter YENI, originally from Sweden but now based in Berlin, creates soulful, authentic folk music with a hint of Americana. In her songs, she explores the tension between the desire for closeness and belonging and the feeling of loneliness and distance.
