Hi there! We are delighted to invite you to our beautiful tour in Villa Farnesina, located in Trastevere. It is considered one of the noblest and most harmonious creations of Italian Renaissance, commissioned by the Sienese banker Agostino Chigi to the architect Baldassarre Peruzzi at the beginning of the sixteenth century. The interior is decorated with frescoes by Raphael Sanzio, Sebastiano del Piombo, Giovanni da Udine, Giovanni Bazzi known as il Sodoma, Giulio Romano and Baldassarre Peruzzi himself. The villa became the property of the Farnese family in 1577 (hence the name of Farnesina). Also in the 16th century, Michelangelo proposed linking the Palazzo Farnese on the other side of the River Tiber, where he was working, to the Villa Farnesina with a private bridge, but was never completed...
We'll meet each other at the entrance in Via Lungara 230 at 10.50am.
The tour will lead by an Art historian specialized in XVI and XVII century Italian Art and Culture.
Ticket: 10 euro for the entrance
+ 12 euro for the tour for our members;
