John Bojanowski and Evan Lewandowski are two American winemakers, with Polish surnames…

...and that is where the similaries end.

Join us for this one-off wine-off, as John and Evan face-off, and guide us through their exquisite offerings at our communal table.

John's wines from the Languedoc will be at one end and Evan's from California at the other - Nat and Lisse shall be stoking the flames in the middle..

The food, as ever, will be exceptional (see the menu below). We feast at table on our own private floor of that infamous wino haunt, The Drapers Arms in Islington. Singles welcome, this is all about participation, this night we are family.

Plenty of Clos du Gravillas wines and Ruth Lewandowski wines will be served throughout the evening.

The 3-course dinner will be family feasting-style sharing platters of:

Starters

 Duck hearts, watercress, herbs de Provence croutons & pickled red onion

 Peas, broad beans, green beans, pine nuts & goat’s curd

 Burrata, aubergine & walnuts

Mains

 Roast guinea fowl, confit potatoes, watercress & green peppercorn sauce

 Seven-hour lamb shoulder, courgette & mint salad

 Spiced cauliflower, chick peas, herb yoghurt & pomegranate

Desserts

 Strawberry fool

 Dark chocolate mousse, oranges & whipped cream

Nat and Lisse met on a trip to the Roussillon and bonded fast over the warm, open dinner tables of brilliant Roussillon winemakers. Craving that unique experience and wanting to open it up to all, they aimed to create an inviting, non-stuffy, space in London where winemakers and wine lovers might meet, eat and drink fantastic wine.

So, in March 2022, lamenting the loss of that fine establishment known as Terroirs opposite Charing Cross, the first Vigneron Supper Collective took place at Terroirs' sister restaurant, Soif in Clapham, an evening of zero pretension and lots of fine food and wine. Hosted by winemaker Ben Walgate of Tillingham Wines, it was an intimate and relaxed evening accompanied by an exquisite veggie-focused dinner.

A number of these dinners will run throughout the year, they might pop up at different restaurants and in different guises, but the ethos will always be the same - unpretentious, relaxed, inclusive chat with fellow winos, learning from winemakers about their philosophy, and just generally drinking great wine and eating great food.

Pro tip: always come hungry and thirsty.
