Vietnam from Space: NASA Satellites and Our Future

Vietnamese American NASA scientist Dr. Sơn V. Nghiêm will share how satellites orbiting high above Earth can help us better understand Vietnam’s land, rivers, sea, and air. Using images and data from space, he will show how our cities are growing, how the countryside is changing, how the Mekong River is impacted, and how natural disasters, pollution, and offshore wind energy appear from space. The talk will use real examples from across Vietnam and is designed for everyone, not just scientists.
