Join us on the 25th Observance of 9/11 for an evening of worship unto the Lord! We're grateful to help with this event which will include a full array of music and musicians, times of reflection, prayer, scripture, and inspiring testimonies of tragedy turned to triumph for the glory of God.
Events of this year's 9/11 include -
8:45am-9:15am - Musical Reflections featuring an organ presentation of J.S. Bach's 'St. Anne' Prelude and Fugue in Eb, BWV 552 at the Howell First Presbyterian Church. It is the piece played 25 years ago on 9/11 by the organist. The tragedy of the attack stopped the song midway that day. Twenty-five years later, it is a prayer for the song to be played in full for the glory of God who is "Our Help in Ages Past and Hope for Years to Come." The half hour will also include piano and organ duets on "America the Beautiful" and "Fairest Lord Jesus."
4:00pm - Gather with the Community on the lawn of the Howell Carnegie Library for remembrance and displays dedicated to the remembrance of 9/11.
6:30pm - Join the community for a Military Honors Ceremony on the Lawn of the Howell Carnegie Library.
7:10pm - A Candlelight Procession will follow a bagpiper to the doors of the First Presbyterian Church of Howell.
7:30pm - the Victory Concert of Worship and Renewal will feature a gathered community choir and instrumental ensemble leading worship through hymns, songs, and anthems of praise - including Threshold of Glory, the Hallelujah Chorus and the Battle Hymn of the Republic. Various local leaders and Pastor Paul Murphy from New York City's Ground Zero will help lead the evening.
These events are free and open to the public as a blessing shared.
