Barbara Kincaid is a Victorian Historian who specializes in social and fashion history from the Victoria Era (1837 – 1900). She speaks on fashion, history, lifestyles, and social customs through the first half of the twentieth century.
Barbara has served as the Head Docent for the historic Morey Mansion in Redlands, California. She also worked with Los Angeles Museum of Art costume exhibits, the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, Los Angeles, the Smithsonian Institute, Washington D.C., the Colonial Dames of Georgetown. She served as the curator for the Linden Historic Museum for 13 years.
The in-demand speaker on several topics, is also a published author. She dresses in vintage attire and will share examples of mourning items from her personal collection.
Barbara will offer insights into social attitudes toward death, the importance of remembrance, and the ways in which people have coped with loss throughout history.
