There is lots to see and do at our Victorian Events Day and it’s all free!• Captain Wyatt , was a veteran of the Boer Wars who is now employed as Her Majesties bodyguard. He will be happy to talk about his life and times.
• Marvel at the latest thing in Victorian entertainment, a Magic Lantern Show, performances will be 11.15, 1pm, 2.30 and 3.30pm.
• Find out about the advances of science during the Victorian period with Charlotte and Emma our Museum Access Assistants. . Visitors will be able to explore scientific and technological advancements such as the incandescent light bulb and steam power.
• Younger visitors can get creative and make their own jigsaw.
• We couldn’t miss out George Eliot, Nuneaton’s famous Victorian writer so visitors will be able to see and handle a few objects relating to her early life that day between 11am and 1.30pm.
• This will be accompanied by a second hand book stall to raise funds for the museum.
