Victorian Dance Workshop

The Nineteenth Century opened with Europe at war, but arts and entertainment continued to flourish across borders. In this workshop we'll cover some popular dances of the Victorian period.

We'll learn country dances and quadrilles from the era as well as touching on popular couple dancing from the time such as the waltz and the polka.

This workshop is a perfect opportunity for thos attending the Dickensian Ball in Buxton to get a feel for the dance of the period, however this workshop is open to everyone (even if you're not going to the ball).

The workshop will cover a selection of victorian dances and is suitable for beginners as well as those more experienced. No need to bring a partner just suitable comfy shoes for dancing. Tea, coffee and cake will be provided.
The workshop will be held at St Olaves Church Hall in York.
