VIBES: JANET – an Icon Tribute Show Starring all Black and Queer Artists

Janet Jackson is the blueprint of the modern multi-hyphenate, an architect of sound and movement who fundamentally restructured the DNA of pop, R&B, and dance. With a career defined by an uncompromising sense of agency, she transitioned from a burgeoning talent into a global sovereign of the stage, building a sonic legacy that balances industrial grit with ethereal intimacy. Far beyond topping the charts, Janet is one of the earlier influences of the concept of the visual album and redefined the standard for choreography, embodying an entire masterclass in precision and expression that continues to shape the entertainment industry today.

A vocal ally to the LGBTQ+ community throughout her career, her cultural impact testifies to the power of self-liberation and social consciousness. By seamlessly weaving themes of empowerment, intimacy, and justice into her music, Janet became a powerful voice for a new era of Black excellence and feminine strength. She remains an unrivaled icon and singular force who proved that true artistry is in how you lead and transform the culture. We're so excited to dedicate an entire weekend of shows - an entire quarter! - to the brilliance, the rhythm, and the revolutionary spirit of Janet Jackson.

An ongoing love letter to intersectionality, our 'VIBES' queer art series features a different curated theme, different host, and a different cast of drag, burlesque, and other performance artists every quarter in a cool, underground setting. Truly a different vibe every time we do it. VIBES: JANET is happening for 2 nights only on Friday, May 15th and Saturday, 16th at Momentum Studios (Studio C) in Midtown.

VIBES: JANET features the talents of Anchorage-based drag artist Beyquance, dance duo Kasha J and Tey Mone, burlesque artist Madame Karisma, pole artist Temper, as well as our burlesque money honeys, Gemini Thee Divine and Lavender Dream! Rounding out the lineup of electric performances, we're bringing back 2 hometown heroes as our guest headliners: Seattle-based drag artists, Glenn Coco and Issa Man!

This is a 21+ show. Proof of ID required upon entry. We have other all-ages shows; this is not one of them! Please drink responsibly.
