The program invites local artists to present a wide-ranging selection of art films, classics, and new wave cinema. Curated by iconic Boorloo film critic Tristan Fidler, the creator of the celebrated local VHS Tracking film zine, and hosted by Goolugatup Gallery monthly.

LONG WEEKEND - Rated M, 94 mins
Directed by Colin Eggleston and written by Everett De Roche (RAZORBACK, ROAD GAMES), a classic Australian eco-horror thriller. Attempting to resurrect their failing marriage, Peter (John Hargreaves) and Marcia (Briony Behets) set out on a camping trip to a deserted stretch of the Australian coastline in the hope that a long weekend in the sunshine will help them patch up their differences. They trample through the countryside, destroying everything in their tracks, carelessly scattering their rubbish and shooting anything that moves.
Their callous disregard for the environment soon becomes apparent when the animals start to seek vengeance. Marcia and Peter have proved themselves to be wanton destroyers. Can they leave, or will they be destroyed?

Grace Connors is an artist, writer and curator living in Boorloo (Perth, Western Australia). She completed her Bachelor of Fine Art (Honours) in 2016, and her practice draws from post humanist studies and cyber feminism to look critically toward systems of control, our relationships to technology and to each other. Connors is presently co-founder and Chair of Cool Change, and was previously Exhibitions Volunteer at Success Arts and Exhibitions Manager at Moana Project Space. She has curated offsite exhibitions for Hobiennale in 2017, Symbiotica’s Unhallowed Arts Festival in 2018 and exhibitions for Perth Festival in 2021 and 2025. Additionally, she has presented papers at Revelation Film Festival Academic Conference in 2018, UWA Gender Diversity in Music and Art Conference 2019, and had her performance work featured in Frieze Magazine in 2017. She was previously artist in residence at Gotham Studios, Midland Junction Art Centre, The Perth Institute of Contemporary Art developing her performance project Running on the Smell of an Oily Rag.

Goolugatup Heathcote is a cultural precinct located on the shores of the Derbal Yerrigan, in the suburb of Applecross, just south of the centre of Boorloo Perth, WA.
The precinct's street address is 58 Duncraig Rd, Applecross WA. It is 10 minute drive from the CBD, with ample parking on site. The closest train station is Canning Bridge, and the closest bus route the 148.
This will be an OUTDOOR cinema, bar is wheelchair accessible through rear access. ACROD parking is available nearby. Main entry is 1.4m wide, and accessible toilet doors are 0.9m wide. Toilets are unisex
