About this Event
The best idea is nothing without the right pitch. This course is designed around structure and delivery of pitches. It is the “how” - how to present ideas dramatically and effectively. Using industry standard methods and practices, students will learn to actively pitch ideas with an eye to concept, theme and genre. This course will consist of lectures, discussions, in-class exercises and out of class prep assignments.

Learning Outcomes – Participants Will:
- Apply pitching techniques in the professional world, from casual studio hallway pitching to formal board room firing squads.
- Understand the importance of theme and a good hook in a pitch.
- Select good concepts.
- Identify the concepts needed to sell a story to a variety of cultures and markets. Define and use genre to assist in pitching.
- Understand the successful elements and presentation tools that sell a pitch to producers, production companies, broadcasters, distributors, actors and directors look for.

- Paper, pen, pencil, and notepad
Prerequisites:
- IELTS Score of 6.0 or higher is required
