Vexa Violet celebrate the release of their debut single & video 'Morningstar' with Ebiphe & Chameleon 7. Thursday May 19 at Colour Nightclub, presented by Holiday Maker.
Vexa Violet
Vexa Violet are a new Naarm-based neo-fusion 5 piece fronted by writer/vocalist Ryan Rickard. They mix elements of psychedelia, neo-soul, cool-jazz and house to create a dark ethereal swirl of song and melody. The band features Jess Taylor (Synths), Hunter Davis (Bass) Liam Watts (Drums) and Christopher Singh (Percussion).
Their debut single & video ’Morningstar’ introduces the dreamy world of Vexa Violet by simultaneously evoking feelings of retrospection and vulnerability while also maintaining an emphasis on rich melodies and groove.
Ebiphe
Naarm-based six-piece Ebiphe led and fronted by composer/vocalist Phoebe Parsons, blend and introduce a heavy melting pot of sounds exploring neo-psyche soul, edging free ambient jazz, punk and hard driving boom funk, finally sprinkled with spoken word , birth EBIPHÈ. Jack Eden (Bass), Declan Peel (Guitar), Joel Segal (synths and keys) and Blake Hansen (drums).
Chameleon 7
Chameleon 7’s pool of genre blending sound was birthed as an attempt at making ambient soundscape music merge seamlessly with 70’s glam, disco and progressive rock. The band's first single ‘Pameleon’ released earlier this year captured all of the band’s key musical elements and what resulted was a danceable yet spacey funk pop anthem that is sure to be a live staple for the group. Chameleon 7’s transportive yet energy fuelled live set is a cerebral spectacle to see, hear and feel.
