Join us for a powerful evening of music, art, and gratitude as St. Mark’s United Methodist Church hosts a Veterans Gratitude Celebration on Sunday, November 9, from 5:00–6:30 p.m., followed by a public reception from 6:30–7:30 p.m.
This free, community-wide tribute honors all who have served and continue to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces along with their families.
Among the evening’s highlights is a live performance and patriotic painting by internationally recognized artist Joe Everson, known for his simultaneous singing and painting performances at major national events including the Super Bowl. The artwork he creates during the service will be auctioned immediately afterward in a silent auction.
In addition to Everson, the event will feature:
•Performance by the U.S. Air Force Heartland of America Band, Raptor
•Soloists: Master Sergeant Rachel L. Wilson (USAF) and Technical Sergeant Lindsay Bustamante (USAF Ret.)
•Full color guard representing all six branches of the military
•Presentation of Quilts of Valor to six veterans touched by war
•Keynote address by Major General Mary E. Link (Ret.)
•Master of Ceremonies: Colonel Joe Brownell (Ret.)
Veterans and active-duty service members are encouraged to wear their uniforms, hats, or branch colors and sit with their families in designated seating areas.
Come be part of an evening of reflection, remembrance, and deep appreciation for those who have served our nation.
St. Mark’s is located at 8550 Pioneers Blvd in Lincoln, NE.
