Through Song to honor our Veterans Service and Sacrifice, the Allen Community Jazz Band will perform as part of the Allen Public Library’s Veterans Day Program on Wednesday, November 11. The program begins at 7:30PM.
Doors open at 7:00PM and patrons are encouraged to arrive early to get the best seats.
The concert will be held in the Civic Auditorium within the newly expanded Allen Public Library.
The Library is located at 300 N. Allen Drive. Entrance to the Auditorium is on the East Side.
The program begins with the National Anthem followed by American Patrol made famous by Glenn Miller, featuring John Roberts on Alto Sax. A number of Big Band selections will follow including Frank Granata’s Blues featuring Charlie Lemmo on Trumpet and Dan Kinchen on Bass. The ever-popular Song from Mash with Stephanie Waterman, Trumpet and John Roberts on Alto soloing.
As part of the program the Band will perform their arrangement of Armed Services Medley, highlighting the songs of each branch of the service. Veterans will be asked stand as their song is played
The program will conclude with Battle Hymn of the Republic.
Following the Bands performance there will be a featured speaker.
