Veteran Dance Workshop

Exit12’s movement workshops bring together military veterans, fostering connection and empathy through shared movement. Guided movement explorations investigate themes such as identity, resilience, and life transitions. Partner and group exercises, as well as individual reflection and group sharing, encourage collaboration, trust-building, and mutual empathy. No experience in dance is needed; modifications will be offered to ensure all attendees can participate fully.

About Exit12 Dance Company:

Exit12 Dance Company is a New York-based dance company co-founded by Román Baca, a Marine and Iraq War veteran, and his wife, Lisa Fitzgerald. Exit12 investigates the military experience by exploring the service member, the family, the perceived enemy, shared humanity, homecomings, and trauma.

Through movement workshops, performances, and presentations, Exit12 heals the veteran and military-connected community, educates audiences on the effects of military service, and advocates for veterans issues.
