Beginning as observations of old trucks, roadside structures, and weathered surfaces throughout the Southwest, Jeanne Ramsay’s paintings gradually became less about the objects themselves and more about what they carried: memory, time, use, and disappearance.
Drawn to faded paint, oxidized metal, reflections, and fragments of everyday life, Jeanne uses watercolor to explore atmosphere, curiosity, and the quiet traces left behind by people and places. Through lost edges, layered washes, and open space, the work invites viewers to slow down, look closely, and bring their own meaning to what remains.
Jeanne is an Arizona-based watercolor artist and exhibiting member of the Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild, Tubac Center of the Arts, and Arizona Watercolor Association.
