On Sunday, May 5th, the Thai Buddhist Meditation Center of Pittsburgh will host this year's Vesak celebration at their beautiful Wat Padhammarattana Temple in Monroeville.
This is part of the international celebration of the birth, enlightenment and parinirvana of the Buddha Shakyamuni.
Local Buddhist groups will offer thoughts and traditions in a shared service. Activities include bathing the baby Buddha, singing, traditional dance, meditation, a children's program and planting a new tree for unity. Refreshments will follow.
