Retired Detective Scotty Ferguson is hired by an old acquaintance to investigate his wife who has been behaving rather strangely recently. His investigation leads him down a spiral of suspicion, deception and obsession.
One of Hitchcock’s most discussed works, Vertigo heaps on the style and leaves much left up to interpretation and the audience's own deduction. A true example of Hitchcock’s “pure cinema” - storytelling that is only possible through the combination of moving image and sound.
