Vertical Oyster Garden (VOG) Prep Workshop
About this Event
Join UF/IFAS Extension Pinellas County Natural Resources Agent, Lara Milligan for this exciting opportunity to prepare shells for vertical oyster gardens (VOGS)! VOGs are recycled oyster shells strung on a wire or rope that can be deployed from a personal pier or dock. Over time, oyster larvae will settle on the shells and grow into adult oysters.
During this workshop, you can help drill or "punch" holes in oyster shells to prepare them for VOG assembly (at a later date). You will also have the chance to take home a pre-assembled VOG if you wish!
Note: Let us know if you're interested in a VOG when you register
Come anytime between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. and stay for as long as you would like!
