Zásadním inspiračním zdrojem projektů slovenské fotografky Zuzana Pustaiové je prostředí, které ji obklopuje a vztahy, které z něj vyplývají. Vyrůstala v blízkosti jaderné elektrárny a tudíž se dlouhodobě zabývá tématem jaderné bezpečnosti. Již dávno si uvědomila, že je prakticky nemožné tuto problematiku objektivně posoudit z veřejně dostupných zdrojů, protože média, odborníci, političtí představitelé či environmentální nevládní organizace často poskytují zaujaté názory založené na mocenských zájmech nebo osobních ideologiích. Název projektu „Safety Report“ tak ironicky odkazuje na nerozlišitelnou směsici názorů založených na intuici, domněnkách, emocionálních prohlášeních a dokonce i nepravdivých informacích s faktickými znalostmi, které nakonec vyvolávají strach a obavy mezi veřejností. V širším smyslu její umělecký výzkum reflektuje roli institucionální spolehlivosti a odpovědného informování v postfaktické éře.
Formálně různorodý projekt obsahující autorské, archivní i manipulované fotografie a videa i obsáhlý textový materiál byl prezentován na prestižním fotografickém festivalu Les Rencontres de la photographie d’Arles v rámci letošní Discovery Award.
Zuzana Pustaiová (*1990) studovala fotografii na Vysoké škole výtvarných umění v Bratislavě a na Univerzitě aplikovaných věd v německém Bielefeldu. V lednu 2022 na VŠVU dokončila doktorské studium. Získala řadu ocenění a vystavovala na mezinárodních výstavách v Evropě a Kanadě. Její první umělecká kniha se dostala do užšího výběru Paris Photo Aperture Photobook Awards 2022. Pustaiová je členkou Reflektor – platformy pro samizdatové fotoknihy v Rakousku a Asociace slovenských profesionálních fotografů na Slovensku. Žije a pracuje v Levicích a Bratislavě. www.pustaiova.com

The primary source of inspiration for Slovak photographer Zuzana Pustaiová's projects is her surroundings and the relationships that arise from them. She grew up near a nuclear power plant and has therefore long been concerned with the issue of nuclear safety. She realized long ago that it is practically impossible to assess this issue objectively from publicly available sources, because the media, experts, political representatives, and environmental NGOs often provide biased opinions based on power interests or personal ideologies. The title of the project, "Safety Report," thus ironically refers to an indistinguishable mixture of opinions based on intuition, assumptions, emotional statements, and even false information with factual knowledge, which ultimately cause fear and concern among the public. In a broader sense, her artistic research reflects on the role of institutional reliability and responsible reporting in the post-factual era.
This formally diverse project, which includes original, archival, and manipulated photographs and videos, as well as extensive text material, was presented at the prestigious Les Rencontres de la photographie d’Arles photography festival as part of this year's Discovery Award.
Zuzana Pustaiová (*1990) studied photography at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava and at the University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld, Germany. In January 2022, she completed her doctoral studies at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design. She has won numerous awards and exhibited at international exhibitions in Europe and Canada. Her first art book was shortlisted for the Paris Photo Aperture Photobook Awards 2022. Pustaiová is a member of Reflektor, a platform for samizdat photobooks in Austria, and the Association of Slovak Professional Photographers in Slovakia.
