Verdant is an award-winning semi-professional A Cappella group based in Eugene, Oregon, known for captivating performances and innovative arrangements. Established in 2016, our name draws inspiration from the lush greens of our home state, reflecting the natural beauty and vibrancy of the Pacific Northwest. Verdant currently features the talents of seven gifted vocalists: Cameron Graham-Mask, Cassidy Finch, Chad Lowe, Connor Eyler, David Fowler, Lexy Menjivar-Grueskin, and Rami Holmes. Together, we craft dynamic and compelling arrangements of songs spanning multiple genres. Our mission is not only to create exceptional music but also to contribute to the growth and nurturing of A Cappella music within the Pacific Northwest community. By pushing the boundaries of A Cappella music, we strive to leave a lasting impact on the genre and its enthusiasts!
Cameron Graham-Mask is the founder and director of Verdant, a group he started in 2016. A passionate member of the contemporary A Cappella community since 2006, he has spent nearly two decades singing, arranging, directing, and building vocal groups throughout the Pacific Northwest. Over the years, he has founded three a cappella groups and directed five. Born and raised in Oregon and residing in Eugene since 2013, Cameron believes the best part of A Cappella is the connections it creates. When he’s not working with Verdant, he’s spending time with his husband, Colton, their two cats, and their extremely energetic dog, Ruby. Whether he’s planning performances, mentoring other groups, or cheering on fellow musicians, Cameron enjoys bringing people together through music.
Cassidy Finch is an Oregon native, born and raised in Portland. Cassidy has lived in the Eugene area ever since she was a student at the University of Oregon, where she was a member of the treble A Cappella group, Divisi, in 2012. During her time with Divisi Cassidy won Best Soloist at the LA A Cappella Festival (LAAF) in 2014 and spearheaded efforts to create the music video for Divisi’s recorded single 11:59, which led the group to be asked to join the original artist Michael Franti onstage during his tour. She appears on multiple Divisi recordings, including album Shots Fired, EP Anecdote, and single Stompa. Post-college, Cassidy has appeared in the local “Contemporary Songbook” series, provided backing vocals on multiple A Cappella projects, and continues to look for opportunities to bring music into her life. Cassidy has been a member of Verdant since 2023, and a fan since the group was a twinkle in Cameron’s eye.
Chad Lowe is a performing artist and musician who has been a member of Verdant since 2018. He is a professional graphic artist who designs the branding and all marketing materials for the group, including the logo you might see on our socials. Chad grew up as a band kid in California but after living in Eugene for over a decade, he now flexes his tenor muscles performing A Cappella with this group and playing roles in community theater musical productions. When he's not singing and designing he loves to hike and camp with friends, spend time with his partner Nick and his orange cat Juju, and sing karaoke at local dives.
Connor Eyler has been a member of Verdant since 2023 and currently serves as the group’s unofficial “human pitch pipe”. Raised in the small, one-horse Eastern Oregon town of Vale, Connor has gained most of his life’s singing experience through A Cappella. In 2015, he joined the University of Oregon’s all-gender a cappella group, Mind The Gap (MTG), eventually serving as the group’s Music Director. He discovered he had perfect pitch after accurately providing starting pitches for an entire MTG performance when the group’s pitch pipe was accidentally left behind. After graduating from the University of Oregon, Connor attended Western Oregon University, where he joined their all-gender group, The West of Us, while pursuing a master’s degree in education. He later served as the group’s director until the spring of 2023. Eager to keep music at the center of his life after graduate school, Connor enthusiastically accepted an invitation to join Verdant in the fall of 2023. Since then, singing with Verdant has been one of the most rewarding musical experiences of his life, and he considers it a privilege to perform alongside some of the most talented and inspiring musicians he has ever known. Connor is honored to call himself a member of the group and is excited to see where the next chapter of Verdant's journey will lead.
Lexy Menjivar-Grueskin is new to A Cappella but has been singing for 10 years. She performs frequently in musicals around town with her husband, including Anastasia, The Last Five Years, and Xanadu. In her time outside of musical theater and A Cappella, she works to provide marketing & development for performing arts venues! She wants to thank her 3 fluffy cats, Gnocchi, Hobgoblin, Bonk and her husband, Esack for their love & support.
David Fowler is the primary arranger for Verdant, which is appropriate because he’s “always hearing voices in [his] head." The singing kind, of course! Contemporary A Cappella is his favorite thing in the entire world - the word “obsession” doesn't even really describe it accurately. He grew up singing in church, dove headfirst into Musical Theater as a teenager, and found his best friends by joining multiple A Cappella groups simultaneously while in college at UC Santa Barbara. After personal tragedy upended his life in 2014, ensemble singing graduated from his favorite pastime to the only thing that kept him going. After dropping out to pursue a life within the art form he began a mentorship under Bill Hare, Grammy-Winning engineer and the original producer for Pentatonix. In the 11 years since that admittedly reckless decision, he’s managed to build a career for himself as an A Cappella arranger, producer, and performer. Opportunity brought him to Eugene in 2018, where he struggled to make friends until he auditioned for Verdant - a group of passionate, kindhearted, beautiful people who shared his vision of filling the world with Harmony. Now he’s working furiously to finish Verdant’s next album, which will feature many of the songs we’re performing today, releasing this fall!
Rami Holmes joined Verdant in the fall of 2023 and currently serves as the group’s Artistic Director, spending countless hours concocting and curating our sets to maximize both audience enjoyment and musical impact. He has always had a deep love for vocal music, performing in Contemporary A Cappella, Chamber, and Mass Choir ensembles regularly since high school. While attending the University of Oregon, he sang with the UO Chamber Choir, Gospel Singers, and Oregon Bach Festival. He also directed the university’s mixed-voice a cappella group: Mind The Gap. His musical journey has spanned eight countries and three continents as well as connecting him to a plethora of outstanding musicians he now calls friends.
