About this Event
Venezuela is changing on a level that hasn’t been seen in decades. The country is facing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to restart its international partnerships and business ventures, and, even more significantly, to reconstruct itself as a stable, democratic, forward-thinking state.
Reestablishing the nation’s stability requires building laws and institutions from the ground up. Commitment to the rule of law, development of financial infrastructure, and the regulatory capacity to convert Venezuela's extraordinary assets into a recovery that addresses decades of deterioration are factors that can’t be overlooked if the reconstruction is to be successful.
Will those with influence, including the U.S. government and investors, along with Venezuelan policymakers, public sector, and diaspora, be able to build the conditions for the reconstruction to succeed? Will U.S. policymakers overcome polarization and build lasting connections in Venezuela? What would be the costs of inaction?
Join us for a public evening convening that will bring together senior U.S. officials, members of Congress from both parties, Venezuelan private sector leaders, and Washington's Venezuelan community to address what bilateral reconstruction requires.
