Velvet Rising, Queer Comedy Mic
About this Event
Velvet Rising is a monthly queer open mic at Lookout, produced and hosted by Matthew McCoy. Fresh comics, queer voices, and the particular joy of a small room that's fully on your side. Candlelight energy, a disco ball on the mic, and drinks that go down easy.
This is a space built for queer comics and queer audiences first. Come watch, come support, or come get up and try something new.
Watching:
Grab a free ticket, bring a friend, and pull up a chair. The room is intimate, about 25 seats, so reserve your spot and come early.
Performing:
Sign ups happen in person at 7:45 PM, day of. Free to perform. Four minute sets, six minutes with a drink purchase. All experience levels welcome. What we won't have is anything transphobic or homophobic. The host will cut it, no exceptions.
