This is a space for like minds to get together, introduce ourselves, and share our feelings and experiences of being vegan.
About this Event

Lets talk about our challenges, the victories, and everything in between. It can be difficult and a bit lonely to be vegan in a world where most people we know and love are not, so this is a space where we can all feel more open to share and be heard and understood
It can also be really beautiful to be vegan! ― maybe we'll make some new friends, find some new recipes, or gain some fresh insights from people who share similar ethics and values

Meeting Spot:
We will meet at the dome-shaped gazebo, straight through the field from the main parking lot. If you don't know where it is, come early and walk the path, you'll see the dome near the 'beach' area on the far side of the park

Weather:
It will be 11 degrees and a bit windy by the Bay, so bring warm clothing, a blanket you don't mind getting dirty on the grass, or a comfortable lawn chair. We can also gather together some picnic tables. Just, be prepared :)
Structure:
This will be a structured, sharing-circle style conversation that will involve using a talking stick and a timer at some points. This will make sure that everyone's voice has a chance to be heard. There will also be some space for unstructured, free-form sharing

90 Minute Event

  • Introduction by the host
  • Opening sharing circle (3 minutes each)
  • Free form conversations (30+ minutes)
  • Closeing sharing circle (3 minutes each)
  • Mingling & goodbyes
    About the host:
I'm James, and I am deeply influenced by a philosophy of kindness, love, and compassion ― not just for the animals, but for all human beings. I understand veganism is a topic where emotions run high, and where anger and frustration are very natural responces to the helplessness we can sometimes feel around the suffering of sentient beings, often at the hands of people we know and love. I will encourage us all to welcome difficult emotions as they arise, and to do our best to have a healthy dialogue
