It's new, delicious, and hip, and it's vegan friendly--the long awaited Curry Up Now will open by June with its Indian street food and fusion cuisine. Billing itself as "Indian Born, California Raised," this is the fast-casual chain's first Alabama location. Let's meet up for dinner there and welcome them to Birmingham. As always, please be sure to order vegan at the meetup. In addition to already vegan offerings, other items can be made vegan easily. Here's a quick overview:
Signature Vegan Menu Items:
*Hella Vegan Burrito: Samosas, chana masala, turmeric rice, pickled onions, and chutneys wrapped in a flour tortilla.
*Hella Vegan Bowl: A deconstructed version of the burrito featuring chana masala, samosa, rice, and chutneys.
*Peace.Love.Vegan Bowl: Vegan chick'n, turmeric rice, and homestyle daal or chana masala.
*Vegan Tandoori Sandwich: Vegan chick'n, tandoori marinade, and bombay dust aioli.
*Sides & Snacks: Samosas, aloo gobi, and various chutneys.
*Guac Sev Puri: Crisp papdi chips topped with guacamole.
Curry Up Now was started by a husband and wife in a food truck nearly two decades ago out west. With a lot of work and a commitment to a vegan-friendly menu, they have managed to open more than a dozen locations, with Alabama being their sixth state.
