About this Event

On April 15th, 2013, two bombs went off near the Boston Marathon finish line, shaking the foundations of Boston's long-honored and celebrated tradition. It was a tragedy on a huge scale, responsible for the death of citizens and the injury of many more. Whether those wounds be physical or emotional, every Bostonian felt the impact of that terrible day, and some of us always will.

Yet the response of those present and throughout the city, both during and after the incident, was one born of love-- strangers helping each other up, patching wounds and delivering water, protecting and comforting each other in one of the most difficult times our city has ever seen. Boston sent a shocked America our own message of strength and unity, setting an example of how a city can bounce back from catastrophe by pulling together rather than apart.

One Boston Day is April 15th which will start our fundraising campain, there is no end date for being a part of Boston Strong, so we hope you can join us for a night of comedy and dinner at Florian Hall on July 30th. We will eat food, have drinks, laugh with comedians, and participate in raffles. We hope you have fun, but most of all, we hope you take away the lasting message of One Boston Day: we are all Boston Strong when we come together as one for good.

The money raised for this fundraising event will be benefiting two charities - MA Vest-a-Dog to help police & fire k9s get the equipment and training they need, including bulletproof vests & to VEG Cares which helps pets in Boston with emergency care when they need it the most.

"In 2015, Mayor Marty J. Walsh proclaimed April 15 as 'One Boston Day.' One Boston Day is an opportunity to honor the resiliency, generosity, and strength demonstrated by the people of Boston in response to the 2013 marathon tragedy--and to celebrate one another as Bostonians. We'll never forget those we lost and all those affected, and we'll use those memories to strengthen our shared values and connections. On every April 15, we'll remember what makes Boston great by doing good in our communities."
