Feature Performer - Brian Pearson
An author, songwriter, and podcaster, he left his day job to pursue these other passions. His original songs range from blues to folk to rockabilly and can be sampled on his eclectic album, Let the Dogs Run Free. At ease on stage, a natural storyteller, he invites his audience into a musical world of strong characters and soulful reflections.
Opening Performer - Sue Hauke
From the time she was a young girl, Sue Hauke has loved to perform and entertain. She spent most of her musical life in classical music—starting out as a pianist and later, a flutist. She was Principal Flute with the Calgary Civic Symphony for 27 years, and at the age of 52, she joined the Red Deer Symphony, where she was Second Flute+Piccolo for 9 years. When Covid shut everything down, she reached for the next best thing—her ukulele—and a new chapter of music-making emerged. Along with a friend, she formed a duo, The Ukeladies, and together they’ve embraced performing familiar tunes spanning genres and eras—a little something for everyone to sing along to. As a solo performer, Sue loves to share stories around the music that inspires her, while putting an original spin on covers of some of music’s popular hits.
