About this Event
People for Education is a national charitable nonprofit focused on research, policy, and public engagement related to the value of public education in strengthening Canadaβs resilience and prosperity.
Hosted by the Vancouver Foundation, we invite you to join us for the Vancouver edition of our cross-country event series, The Promise of Public Education, which brings together leaders across sectors, including education, academia, nonprofit, business, community, policy, and labour.
People for Education's co-Executive Director, Paris Semansky, will moderate a panel discussion that explores the role of public schools in creating national social cohesion, their roles in integrating and newcomers, and the intersections with immigration policy.
Environics Institute for Survey Research's Dr. Andrew Parkin will begin the program with a presentation about how Canada's public schools are doing relative to the rest of the world.
The event will start and finish with a breakfast networking reception with coffee and light refreshments.
