Speaker: Kevin Jagger – The Attraction of Long Shots

Kevin Jagger’s journey is a rare blend of grit, reinvention, and visionary leadership. A proud alumnus of Vancouver College, Kevin headed to McGill University from VC and began his career in investment banking with Citigroup in Toronto. After four years, in a bold and unconventional move, he left the corporate world to chase an unfulfilled athletic dream—pursuing long track speed skating… having no prior experience. Known as the Long Track Long Shot, Kevin relocated to Calgary and trained at the Olympic Oval. Kevin gained international notoriety for his approach to leveraging social media to support his pursuit and become a sought-after speaker teaching Canada’s Olympic athletes how to leverage his approach to help them raise funds to fuel their own Olympic journeys.

After retiring from competition, Kevin transitioned into the energy sector and joined Pembina Pipeline Corporation. There, Kevin architected and negotiated the landmark $5 billion joint venture with the Kuwaiti government’s Petrochemical Industries Company pushing Pembina into the petrochemical industry for the first time. In recognition of this achievement, he was named one of Oilweek Magazine’s Rising Stars in 2017.

Kevin now serves as President, NGL at Wolf Midstream, a major Canadian energy infrastructure company backed by the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments). In this role, he was a key contributor to the creation of the $2 billion NGL North System and formation of Wolf NGL. Today, Kevin oversees all aspects of construction, operations, commercial, and commodity risk management for Wolf NGL, now one of the largest proprietary natural gas liquids producers in Canada.

From the Olympic Oval to leading one of Canada’s most significant pension-backed energy ventures, Kevin’s story is a testament to what’s possible when vision meets execution—and when you’re willing to bet on yourself.
