VANCAMP:
Indie grit meets sentimental acoustic charm and intentional storytelling. VANCAMP is the musical alias of Peterborough’s Calvin Bakelaar. Post-pandemic, Calvin ventured into this solo project, quickly connecting with local audiences as live shows made a comeback. His debut album, Diner Coffee, is set to release on Friday, September 20th. Diner Coffee is a unique blend of modern folk and country music. The album delves into the challenges of growing up in a small town and builds on the sound introduced in Camper Van. VANCAMP has supported artists like Mariel Buckley, Beau Dixon, Field Guide, and Texas King, and he was recognized with the 2024 Peterborough Folk Festival Emerging Artist Award.
Brooklyn Doran:
Brooklyn Doran (she/her) is a queer singer-songwriter originally from the heart of Northwestern Ontario, who has been a staple of the Toronto folk scene for over ten years. Doran’s unique sound weaves song and storytelling; the polarity between her music and personality creates a harmonious blend of wit and humour contrasted by vulnerable lyricism and haunting melody.
Gamekeeper:
A singer-songwriter from Kawartha Lakes, Ontario. Warren Frank is Gamekeeper. Best known for his time as the lead singer in indie outfits The Kents and Heaps, heard across Canada on national radio. As Gamekeeper, Frank’s voice and lyricism take centre stage as he explores a new chapter in songwriting, starting with his debut single, “Run”. An upbeat indie-folk tune, centering around the apprehension that can build in relationships, romantic or otherwise, when we aren't keenly aware of our own fears.
