We will be concentrating on Milonga and Vals for the next 4 weeks (August 14,21,28 and September 4th) - please join us.
We will build on the skills and musicalty each week so it would really be benficial to start at the beginning of this 4 week cycle and attend each week to consolidate your learning.
Classes require tango experience and are not suitable for complete beginners. Our next complete beginners course starts September 11th
7pm-8pm: Milonga
8pm-9pm: Vals
9pm-11pm: milonga / social dancing
Cost:
One class £10 (includes Milonga)
Both Classes £15 (includes Milonga)
Milonga only £5.
Concession: £12 both classes
Our usual class programme is as follows:
CLASS FOR BEGINNERS / NOVICES: 7pm-8pm
Our beginners class runs on a 10 to 12-week cycle designed to teach you the fundamentals of Argentine Tango. We recommend you start as early as possible in the cycle. You can stay to practice whilst the improvers class is taking place. Wear shoes that allow you to pivot comfortably. Suitable for all levels, complete beginners and those with experience who wish to consolidate and enhance their fundamental skills.
CLASS FOR EXPERIENCED DANCERS: 8pm-9pm
Suitable to all have significant tango experience; please check with us if unsure.
We focus on a new topic every month and the last week is always dedicated to milonga or vals. Feel free to come early to warm up and practice whilst the beginners class is running.
MILONGA / SOCIAL DANCING: 9pm-11pm
The term "milonga" is what Tango clubs are known as in Argentina and is used to refer to social Tango dancing a.k.a. a free-style. Everyone is welcome, regardless of level.
