About this Event

I’m Juan Tafolla, an Armona filmmaker who moved to Fresno to connect with a crew of creators who are just as hungry as I am to break into the industry. Between my decade of experience and the talent of folks like Alexis Andrade and Dante Dorian, we’ve realized that the only thing holding us back is the massive cost of independent production. We’re establishing a new kind of theater event where local businesses fund our short films through legitimate advertising services like custom 30-second commercials.

As college students living paycheck to paycheck, we’ve spent months pouring our hearts into a diverse slate of films ranging from comedies to my own five-year passion project. This Kickstarter is our way of making that hustle sustainable so we can turn this showcase into a yearly tradition for filmmakers across the Central Valley. We’re ready to prove that our community can build its own spotlight, and we’d love for you to be part of the journey

The evening begins with the high-energy comedy Bumped, created by Alexis Andrade, an ambitious photographer from Kettleman City who brings a commercial eye to the big screen. The energy shifts to the directorial debut of Jonathan Silva, a Clovis-based theater actor whose film Forgot this? marks the first step in his journey toward Los Angeles representation.

The showcase then transitions into a technical masterclass with The Corruption, produced by Hanford’s own Braulio Garcia, a seasoned videographer using this film as his ultimate creative showcase. Leading into the marquee presentation, Fresno’s prolific Bay Area actor Dante Dorian makes his directorial debut with the premiere of Logos, a project born from a life-changing personal event.

Finally, the night reaches its emotional peak with the realization of a five-year dream. Juan Tafolla, an Armona filmmaker with a decade of experience, presents his long-awaited passion project, Sherlock Holmes and the Black Hand.

The Mission: By attending, the community is not just watching movies; they are supporting a strategic partnership designed to maximize brand visibility for local talent and provide an exclusive engagement with the next generation of cinema.
