REUNION INFO – PLEASE READ!
Hello, unfortunately, we will not be holding our reunion on the original planned date of October 25, 2025. We have rescheduled this for Saturday, May 30, 2026.
I apologize for the late notice but unfortunately, it is what it is. For those who don’t know how planning and carrying out a reunion event works, let me explain. The reunion is put together 100% by volunteers who not only volunteer their time planning and preparing for the event but also put up their own money, out of their own personal pocket, in order to place the deposits (venue, caterers, DJs, photobooths, etc.) that are required for the event as well as additional money for other upfront items needed to put on the event. A volunteer is also responsible for guaranteeing to the venue that a specific number of people will attend and if that number is not met, that volunteer has to personally guaranteed that they will then pay the venue the difference (estimated at $16,115 plus!). In the case of this reunion, over $5,000 has already been paid out (of my pocket) on deposits, decorations and other items. Vallejo Senior High Class of ‘85 had 389 graduates. Out of the 389 grads, we had only 2 people working on pulling this event together (Orlando and myself). As much as I wanted to see this event come together on the original planned date, I have had other unplanned personal responsibilities suddenly pop up that have taken priority over completing what needed to be completed in order for the reunion to happen. Help that was requested to assist us has not been able to fully help in order to make the event successful.
Now, with all that said, we are committed to making a reunion happen!
We do have a new date. The 40th reunion is set for Saturday, May 30, 2026. We have tried to keep the costs down as much as possible. The average of other class reunions holding similar events has cost attendees on average around $135. Our reunion tickets will be $99. Because we do have 8 months now prior to the revised date, this will give those who need time to work on getting their money together some additional time to do so. Final payment is required by May 15, 2026. Payments can be made by cash, check, Venmo or Zelle (there will be a separate post with specific payment information). You can pay the entire amount all at once or you can make payments between now and May 15 as long as the entire $99 is paid by May 15. If you would like to donate money towards a ticket or to donate the amount for an entire ticket for someone who may not otherwise have the ability to attend, please let me know the amount you are donating and if your donation should go to a specific person that you have selected or if it should be put into the general donation fund for anyone requesting assistance. If you are in need of assistance to help purchase your ticket, please let me know via Facebook Messenger or e-mail so I can add your name to our list. This information will be kept confidential.
The event will be held at Mare Island Brewing Company – Coal Shed Brewery located on Mare Island and DJed by Color Motion Studios. For added fun, there will also be an unlimited photobooth to help capture the fun memories of the night! The event will include appetizers, the “Officer’s Feast” and dessert. The Officer’s Feast includes a market salad (mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, garlic croutons with Ranch and/or Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing), Santa Maria style Tri-tip, Marinated Chicken, herb crusted potatoes, and seasonal vegetable. Appetizers and the dessert options will be pre-selected at a later date. Drinks/alcoholic beverages are NOT included in the ticket price but will be available to be purchased by guests.
Again, I apologize for having to change the date for the reunion. Hopefully, you and even more classmates form Vallejo-class of 85 (& 84 and 86!) will be able to attend the rescheduled reunion. I am expecting the night to be fun for everyone and I look forward to seeing you all there!
