Valentine's Day Welding: Perfectly Imperfect Candleholders

About this Event
Celebrate Valentine’s Day with sparks, steel, and a little beautiful chaos. In this hands-on welding class, you will create a small freestanding metal candleholder that explores movement, balance, and connection - much like a relationship itself. Bring a partner or celebrate self-love and bring yourself!
Using steel rod and beginner-friendly welding techniques, you’ll shape and join metal into an expressive form that focuses on gesture, rhythm, and flow. Subtle bends, repeated lines, and slight variations aren’t mistakes here - they’re what give the piece energy, personality, and life.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Create a welded candleholder that feels cohesive, expressive, and uniquely yours
ABOUT IMPERFECTION (and why we embrace it in this class)
In this particular welding class, a perfectly uniform bead isn’t the goal - and in relationships, neither is perfection. This class embraces the idea that strength comes from thoughtful construction, flexibility, and showing up, even when things aren’t flawless. Crooked lines can still be beautiful. Awkward moments can still connect. And a little heat can bring things together in surprising ways.
YOU'LL LEAVE WITH:
- A completed metal sculpture (candleholder)
- A creative experience that’s equal parts playful, challenging, and rewarding - for yourself or with a special someone!
No prior welding experience needed - just curiosity, and a willingness to embrace imperfection.
This class does NOT certify students to use our welders on their own. For our traditional Intro to MIG welding classes, check out our upcoming listing .
INSTRUCTOR:
I'm Natalie Pinto, a welder/fabricator with 6 years of experience turning sparks into sculptures, structures, and the occasional “how did we pull that off?” project. I’ve spent my career doing custom metal work for artists making me no stranger to unusual ideas and creative challenges. My goal as an instructor is to create a fun, low-pressure environment where metalwork is only intimidating until you realize you’re in control and confidence is forged right alongside metal.
REFUNDS/CANCELLATIONS:
Class size limited to 6 students. Minimum 4 students. We reserve the right to cancel the class if we do not have a minimum amount of students so please purchase your tickets early. If we cancel, we will refund you in full and notify you. You may cancel and get a refund up to three days before the class. After that, refunds are contingent on us being able to fill your seat. Under no circumstances do we offer refunds to individuals who cancel on the same day; this ruins the party for everyone. If you cancel, please note that Eventbrite fees are non-refundable.
