Anger is a difficult emotion. It's painful to feel, hard to justify, damaging to our relations and can bring disease to the body. Nobody wants to feel anger, and most of us work hard to suppress it, often ending up with storing it inside of ourselves. Suppressed and locked in, with nowhere to go, anger over time creates states of disease within our bodies and minds.
Nevertheless, anger is there. No matter how much we ignore it or try to distract ourselves, the terrible emotion of anger keeps digging its claws into our minds. Anger demands space. The important question is how we create this space. How can we embody and express anger in a way that neither damages ourselves, nor others?
This question forms the foundation of this tantric ritual practice. By specific tantric ritual tools and technologies, we will stir up our anger, meet it, and allow it to pass through and out of us. We will explore how our anger is related to our personal willpower, or itccha-shakti, and how anger unprocessed also damages our sense of direction and agency. Through touching the essence of anger, we will also learn how we can transmute this emotion into pure power, and learn specific yogic techniques we can employ to embody and release anger from the body whenever the need arises.
Vajrapani is a tantric practice that specifically works by metabolizing our stored anger. We establish ourselves in a mandala - or an energetic field - wherein we can release our anger and transmute it into power and thus, rather than letting anger be a hindrance to our spiritual growth: use it as fuel for liberation.
Vajrapani means "holder of lightning" and is one of the tantric buddhist spirits. He represents the pure power of the enlightened mind, and is summoned in order to help us work with our own anger. Practicing Vajrapani is very powerful and transformative, and the tantric technology works on us in mysterious ways. All we have to do is be open to the teachings, and allow the energy of the practice to move us.
The practice will be led by two ngakpas, or ordained tantric practitioners, Losang Sherab and Beru Miku-dorje. All participants will receive a manual for how to practice the tantra themselves at home, after having been instructed in its practice at the event.
The class is open to all levels of yogic practitioners. You do not need to bring your own matt, blanket or pillow.
