When Vincent van Gogh was an unknown painter, nobody wanted to know about his work except Theo. The letters they wrote to each other give a fascinating insight into Vincent’s many moods. His words are woven into the lyrics of his story as Vagabond Skies unfolds.
“Vagabond Skies took a long time to complete,” says Tony Norman. “When writing about the world’s best loved painter, you must be sure you’re telling his story as honestly as you can.” Research trips to Amsterdam, Paris and Provence were all vital.
Passion. Rage. Sorrow. Horror. They are all part of Vincent’s complex journey. He had numerous love affairs but never found true love. He was lonely, poor and misunderstood. But one thing never changed: his burning ambition to be a respected artist.
