is a synth-punk/shock rock duo from Hamilton, Ontario formed in 2018 at legendary jam space LMNOP. Both members were in no wave band Poorage later named Human Nun (feat. Randy Gagne on percussion). When Human Nun couldn't perform a gig, Banananananana was created. Drew moved from guitar to electronic drums, and Babette stayed on bass. Both continued to rock vocals. Over time the music went from creepy electronic punky improvisations to fully formed energetic, catchy but still creepy and aggressive synth-pop/rock/no wave/punk songs. Aggressive electronic beats layered with funky bass, no wave guitars, SK1 keyboard, and male and female vocals that are aggressive, poppy, creepy, cute, and apathetic. Songs are about death, sex, cults, or are just straight up strange. Like a synthpunk B-52s! 24 albums were made over the pandemic and the two have finally started to play live. Performances are focused on vocals while they may dance, interact with the crowd, strip, play with props, taunt, or scowl. Additionally, Drew occasionally plays electronic drum beats and keyboard, and Babette hits some glitchy beeps and bops. Banananananana are revved up and ready to really give 'er this year!
