Join us for an oration delivered by Dr Sania Nishtar, CEO of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, followed by a panel discussion.
About this Event

Dr Sania Nishtar leads Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. Since 2000 Gavi has vaccinated more than 1.1 billion children in 78 countries averting more than 18.8 million deaths.

A trained clinician, Dr Nishtar served in Pakistan’s national government as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation. Dr Nishtar also led the health reform think tank Heartfelt, and chaired the UN Secretary-General’s Independent Accountability Panel (IAP) for women’s and children’s health along with numerous World Health Organisation commissions into areas such as non-communicable Diseases and childhood obesity.

At Gavi Dr Nishtar is leading efforts to improve access to vaccines for children in low- and middle-income countries. Gavi works with governments such as Australia’s alongside the private sector, and civil society to ensure that vaccines are available and affordable for the world's most vulnerable populations.
