Kunsthall Stavanger ønsker velkommen til åpning av Nnena Kalus utstilling 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘦. Dette er den første separatutstillingen utenfor Storbritannia av den britiske kunstneren.
Kalus arbeid tar form av storskalaskulpturer og serier med todimensjonale verk. Denne omfattende utstillingen vil blant annet fokusere på hennes utforskning av skala og materialitet gjennom en helt ny serie skulpturer, laget spesielt for gallerirommet.
Kalus praksis er et dynamisk samspill av uttrykksfulle bevegelser, eksplosiv energi og dyptgående omsorg. Gjennom Kalus kunst blir vi gitt en generøs invitasjon til å reflektere over verden gjennom hennes unike perspektiv.
Åpningsarrangementet finner sted på Kunsthall Stavanger torsdag 20. mars kl. 18.00. Utstillingen åpnes av Tone Hansen, direktør for MUNCH.
Nnena Kalu (f. 1966, Glasgow) bor og arbeider i London, Storbritannia. Hennes praksis er forankret i todimensjonale verk, skulpturer og installasjoner. I 25 år har hun jobbet med støtte fra ActionSpace, en britisk organisasjon som gir kunstnere med utviklingshemminger ressurser, muligheter og studiohjelp til å utvikle sitt arbeid.

Utstillingen kurateres av Kristina Ketola Bore og er støttet av Kulturrådet, Bergesenstiftelsen og Norske kunstforeninger.

Kunsthall Stavanger welcomes you to the opening of Nnena Kalu's exhibition 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘦. This is the artist's first solo exhibition outside of the UK.
Kalu's work takes the form of large-scale sculptures and series of two-dimensional pieces. This extensive exhibition will, among other themes, focus on her exploration of scale and materiality through an entirely new series of sculptures, created specifically for the gallery space.
Kalu’s practice is a dynamic interplay of expressive gestures, explosive energy, and profound care. Through Kalu's art, we are offered a generous invitation to reflect on the world through her unique perspective.
The opening event will take place at Kunsthall Stavanger Thursday 20th March at 6 pm. The exhibition will be opened by Tone Hansen, Director of MUNCH.
Nnena Kalu (b. 1966, Glasgow) lives and works in London, UK. Her practice is rooted in two-dimensional works, sculptures, and installations. For 25 years, she has been supported by ActionSpace, a UK-based organisation that provides learning disabled artists the resources, opportunities and studio assistance to develop their work.

The exhibition is curated by Kristina Ketola Bore and generously supported by Arts and Culture Norway, Bergesenstiftelsen and The Norwegian Association of Art Societies.
