The 2026 UToledo High School Choral Festival is an opportunity for high school singers in our region to perform with an elite chorus of their peers and learn from a highly accomplished accompanist, clinician/adjudicator, and vocalist.

Karen Miskell, DMA, the current Director of Choral Activities at The University of Toledo, will be the clinician/conductor for this year's festival. Before coming to UToledo, Dr. Miskell served as professor and department chair of music at Victor Valley College in Victorville, California for the nine years. She holds degrees from the University of Southern California (DMA, 2018), Northern Arizona University (MM, 2013), and the University of Miami (BM, 2005).
During her graduate career, she had the privilege of performing with esteemed greats such as Sir Elton John at the 2014 Grammy Awards, founding member of the King Singers, Simon Carrington, and pop artist Barry Manilow. She also performed at the 2014 World Symposium on Choral Music in Seoul, Korea, the 2014 Chinese International Choral Festival in Beijing, China and numerous regional and national conferences of the American Choral Director’s Association.
